There are a lot of fence options out there. Are you wondering how to go about picking the right one for your home? Here are some important considerations in addition to choosing a design that fits with your style.
Light and Visibility
It is important to think about what you want from your fence in terms of light and visibility. Perhaps your fence is more about containment than blocking out a view, in which case chain link is a good option. Maybe you want to create privacy and shut out street noise–then you want to go with something more solid. If you want to block a less-than-ideal street view without forfeiting light, pick a fence style that has small gaps so that light can shine through.
If you’re installing a fence in order to keep your dog or other pets safely in the yard, make sure it is tall enough that they can’t jump it (this will be different depending on the dog). Keep in mind that sometimes if dogs can’t go over, they try going under. Be sure to install tension wire or bottom railing to prevent your pup from escaping under the fence.
If you have a pool, a fence is an important safety feature to prevent children and pets from wandering into the pool area unsupervised. Pool fences should always have a gate that opens outward from the pool, not inward, to avoid accidents. We have pool fences available in many different styles and materials, including vinyl, aluminum, and cedar.
